Residencia Lumen
Ground-floor beachfront in Elviria — through the garden gate and onto the sand
Residencia Lumen is the ground floor of a front-line beach residence in Elviria, East Marbella's stretch of wide, properly sandy beaches. From the glazed terrace you cross the communal garden, open the gate, and you are on the promenade — the sand is a minute away, timed with a child carrying a bucket. The apartment sleeps five across two bedrooms and a sofa bed that we chose because an adult can actually sleep on it. There's a communal pool in the gardens, underground parking included, and Nikki Beach down the shore. Marbella's centre is a 12–15 minute drive; this is a beach base, not a town one.

The apartment is about 110 square metres on one level, no steps anywhere — front door to sand without a single stair. The living room opens through sliding doors onto a large glazed terrace facing the sea; in summer the glass curtains slide fully back and it's an open terrace, in winter it closes up into a warm extra room where you can watch the weather over the water. The dining table out there seats six.
Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and blackout blinds; the main has a king bed and an en-suite shower room, the second has twins that join into a king. The fifth sleeper goes on the living-room sofa bed — a proper pull-out with a 12cm sprung mattress, not a foam slab. The kitchen has an induction hob, full oven, dishwasher and a decent coffee setup, and there's an outside tap by the terrace for rinsing sandy feet and snorkels.
Elviria works differently from central Marbella. The beach is the widest in the area and the water shelves gently, which is why families come back every year. The commercial centre — two supermarkets, a pharmacy, a string of restaurants — is a ten-minute walk. For Marbella Old Town or Puerto Banús you will want the car: 12–15 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. Your parking space in the underground garage is included, with a lift up to the apartment level.
Stayzia manages this apartment directly. Our team meets every guest at check-in, trusted housekeepers look after it year round, and a guest manager is on WhatsApp throughout your stay.

Where you are
Elviria is east Marbella's answer to a question the west side never asks: what if the beach were the point? The sand here is the widest in the municipality — proper hundred-metre-deep beaches that shelve gently into calm water — backed by dunes and umbrella pines instead of a coast road. Behind the beach, Elviria is green and low-rise, a residential grid of villas and garden apartment complexes threaded through pine forest, with Santa María Golf in the middle and the hills of La Mairena rising behind. The crowd is families and long-stay northern Europeans rather than the Puerto Banús parade, the pace is two gears slower, and Marbella centre is a 15-minute drive west when you want it. The one flash of glamour is Nikki Beach, whose white-bed parties have made Elviria's beach famous since 2003 — easy to visit, easy to ignore. Holiday rentals in Elviria are about space and outdoors: gardens, pools, terraces under pines. Ours, Residencia Lumen, is the ground floor of a front-line residence — through the garden gate and you're on the promenade, sand a minute away with no road to cross — built for exactly the slow beach weeks this side of town does best.

★★★★★
“With two kids under six, the gate onto the promenade changed everything — no car seats, no bags, just out the door and onto the sand. We did the trip to the beach four times a day without thinking about it. The sand toys in the cupboard were a nice touch.”
★★★★★
“We stayed in April when it was too cool to swim in the sea, and the glazed terrace earned its keep — breakfast facing the water every morning with the glass closed against the wind. Elviria's beach walk towards Nikki Beach is beautiful and almost empty at that time of year.”
★★★★★
“Excellent apartment, exactly as described, and the underground parking was genuinely useful in July. Only niggle: the communal pool gets busy with residents on August weekends — but then the sea is sixty seconds away, so we mostly used that.”
★★★★★
“Our third year in Elviria but first time in this apartment, and it's the best located one we've had. I slept on the sofa bed for two nights when my mother visited and it was honestly fine — a real mattress, not the usual bar-in-your-back thing.”
